I’m Han Harper, and I run Outfitchics. I’m not going to bury this in legal jargon — here’s the short version of what I collect, why, and what say you have over it.
What I Collect
Two kinds of information reach me. What you give me directly — your name and email, if you subscribe, comment, or message me. And what shows up automatically in the background — your browser, device, and which pages you visit, the same way it does on almost any site.
Cookies
Cookies keep the site running smoothly, help me see which posts actually get read, and let my ad and affiliate partners track referrals correctly. You can block or delete them anytime in your browser settings — the site will still work, just a bit less smoothly.
Affiliate Links & Ads
Some product links here are affiliate links, including through the Amazon Associates program — if you buy through one, I earn a small commission at no cost to you. I only link to things I’d genuinely recommend, and I flag sponsored content when it appears. The site may also show ads through networks like Google AdSense, which can use their own cookies to personalize what you see. You can adjust that through Google’s Ad Settings.
How I Use It
- Sending newsletter emails to people who asked for them
- Replying to messages sent through my contact form
- Seeing what content is actually useful, so I can write more of it
- Keeping the site secure and measuring how ads perform
I don’t sell your information. If that ever changes, this page will say so clearly.
Behind the Scenes
Running this site involves a few outside tools: analytics software to track traffic, an email provider to send newsletters, Pinterest’s sharing tools, and my hosting provider, which stores comments and form submissions securely.
Comments
If you comment, your name and comment text are stored and may be checked by spam-filtering software. Your email is never shown publicly.
Kids
This site is written for adults. I don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and if I find out I have, I’ll remove it right away.
Your Rights
If you’re in the EU/EEA, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. If you’re in California, you have similar rights under the CCPA, plus the right to know what’s been collected. Either way, just reach out — I don’t sell data, so there’s nothing to “opt out” of on that front, but I’ll still handle any request within about 30 days.
Other Sites
Posts sometimes link to retailers or brands. Once you click through, their privacy rules apply, not mine.
Changes
If this policy changes in any meaningful way, I’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
Contact
Questions, or want your data removed? Reach out through the contact form on this site. I read everything myself.
